Musa Adamu Mbaya

Head of Nursing Services

Musa Adamu Mbaya was born on 6 June 1974 in Shani Local Government Area of Borno State, Nigeria. He began his primary education at Tudun Wada Primary School in 1980, briefly interrupted his studies, and later re-enrolled in 1985, completing primary education in 1990. He proceeded to Government Secondary School, Shani–Biu, where he completed his secondary education in 1995.

Driven by a strong passion for healthcare, he enrolled at the State School of Nursing, Maiduguri, Borno State, in 1996 and qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1999. He commenced his professional career with the Yobe State Hospital Management Board in January 2001 and later joined the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Nguru, Yobe State, in July 2001 as a Staff Nurse.

Mr. Mbaya has consistently pursued professional and academic development. He obtained a Diploma in Civil Law from Atiku Abubakar College of Legal and Islamic Studies in 2007. In 2010, he completed the Post-Basic Nurse Anaesthetist Programme at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu, earning a Diploma in Anaesthesia and becoming a registered Nurse Anaesthetist. He further earned a Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) from the National Open University of Nigeria in 2017 and later obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Nursing (Education) from Maryam Abacha American University of Niger.

With over two decades of clinical and leadership experience, Mr. Mbaya has served in several key roles at FMC Nguru, including Deputy In-Charge and In-Charge of the Anaesthesia Unit, Deputy Head of Nursing Services, and currently serves as the Acting Head of Nursing Services. He holds the rank of Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADNS).

Mr. Mbaya is a seasoned nursing professional with extensive expertise in anaesthesia, nursing education, and healthcare administration. He is married with children.
