Head of Works and Maintenance

Engr. Abdullahi Umar, born on 24 January 1978, is a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in engineering operations and facility management within the healthcare sector.

His educational journey began at Wulari 1 Primary School, Maiduguri, followed by Technical College, Bama, where he developed a strong technical foundation. He furthered his studies at Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri, and the University of Maiduguri, before obtaining a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Energy Option) from Bayero University, Kano.

Engr. Umar commenced his professional career at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Nguru in October 2009. Since joining the institution, he has played a vital role in the development, maintenance, and sustainability of critical hospital infrastructure and engineering systems. His consistent performance, technical competence, and leadership capabilities led to his appointment as Head of the Works and Maintenance Department in February 2019.

In his current role, Engr. Umar is responsible for overseeing engineering operations, facilities management, and maintenance services that are critical to efficient healthcare delivery at FMC Nguru. He is widely respected for his professionalism, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to service excellence.
