Hassan Alhaji Baba
Acting Head of Administration
Hassan Alhaji Baba was born in June 1975 in Nguru, then part of Borno State, Nigeria. He began his formal education at Nurul Aulad Primary School, Nguru, where he completed his primary education in 1988. He subsequently attended Government Secondary School, Nguru, and successfully completed his secondary education in 1994.
Driven by a strong interest in law, governance, and public administration, he obtained a Diploma in Civil Law from the Borno College of Legal Studies in 1996. He further enhanced his legal training with an Advanced Diploma in Legal Studies from Bayero University, Kano, in 1998. Expanding his academic foundation in public affairs, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Bayero University, Kano, in 2004.
In pursuit of advanced expertise in policy formulation and public sector management, Hassan Alhaji Baba obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Policy and Administration in 2012, followed by a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from Bayero University, Kano, in 2015.
His professional career in public service began early, serving as a Classroom Teacher with the Yusufari Local Education Authority in 1993. He later joined the Yobe State Ministry of Justice as an Assistant Registrar between 1997 and 1998. He subsequently transferred to the Nguru Local Government Area, where he was appointed as a Clerical Officer and steadily rose through the ranks, with distinction, to the position of Assistant Chief Administration Officer (Grade Level 13).
In 2007, motivated by a desire to contribute at the federal level, he voluntarily resigned from the Yobe State Civil Service and joined the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Nguru, Yobe State. At FMC Nguru, Hassan Alhaji Baba has rendered exemplary service in several strategic administrative roles, including Pioneer Head of General Duties; Head of Pension and Gratuity (P&G) Unit; Head of Junior Staff Establishment; Head of Registry; Acting Registrar of the College of Nursing Sciences, FMC Nguru; Head of Human Resources; and Acting Head of Administration. Through these roles, he has made significant contributions to institutional development, workforce administration, and the strengthening of administrative systems within the Centre.
He is a member of IHSAN and has actively participated in numerous conferences, seminars, and professional development workshops, underscoring his commitment to continuous learning and capacity building.
Hassan Alhaji Baba is a devoted family man, married with four children. He is widely respected for his integrity, professionalism, dedication to duty, and impactful contributions to public service and healthcare administration in Nigeria.
