Dr. Ukhasha Ibrahim
Head of Clinical Services and Training
Dr. Ukhasha Ibrahim, MBBS, FWACP, MBA, born in September 1977, is a seasoned medical professional with extensive clinical, academic, and administrative experience in Nigeria’s healthcare system.
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Bayero University, Kano in 2005. He became a Member of the West African College of Physicians (MWACP) in 2014 and, in the same year, an Associate Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He was inducted as a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) in April 2018. In addition to his medical qualifications, Dr. Ibrahim earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2019 and completed executive training in Leadership and Strategic Management at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) in 2019. He further enhanced his global health expertise with a Certificate in Project Management in Global Health from the University of Washington in 2021 and a Certificate in Leadership and Management in Health from the same institution in 2022.
Dr. Ibrahim has participated in over thirty workshops, conferences, and professional seminars. He holds membership in several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Society of Family Physicians of Nigeria (SOFPON), Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), and the Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN).
His professional career spans multiple levels of clinical and administrative responsibility. He served as a House Officer at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Birnin Kudu, and later as Medical Officer-in-Charge during his National Youth Service at General Hospital, Batsari, Katsina State. He also worked as a Medical Officer at FMC Nguru, Yobe State. His postgraduate training included roles as Medical Registrar (March 2010 – April 2014) and Senior Registrar (2014 – October 2017) in the Department of Family Medicine, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano. He has been a Consultant Family Physician at FMC Nguru since April 2018 and served as a Member of the National Hajj Medical Team in 2019.
Dr. Ibrahim has held several key leadership positions, including Head of the Department of Family Medicine, Chairman of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) at FMC Nguru, and Deputy Head of Clinical Services and Training at the same institution. He is also an Honorary Consultant Family Physician with the Yobe State Hospital Management Board, Damaturu.
